The First Tee Curriculum

imgThe Life Skills Experience™ as a youth development program separates The First Tee of Ireland from all other Junior Golf Programs. Participants are taught to understand the meaning and application of The Nine Core Values™ in their daily lives.

Participants learn about themselves and others through the experience communications, self management, goal setting and exercising judgment through a variety of golf-related activities designed with the primary goal of having fun. The First Tee certification process introduces young people to different aspects of golf and life skills as they advance through levels of PLAYer, Par, Birdie, Eagle, and Ace.

These life skills are taught through a variety of golf-related activities designed with the primary goal of having fun. Participants focus within each level is to learn about them and others through a range of experiences enhancing their both their golf and life skills.

As they progress through the various skill levels, participants cultivate interpersonal and self-management skills, experience the dynamics of group and community interactions and develop a sense of social responsibility that can positively impact them both on the golf course and in their everyday lives.
